ACCESSIBILITY
Last updated 19 October 2026
1. Our aim
We want everyone to be able to use this site, and we're working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
2. What works
On a computer, move between sections with the menu at the top, or with the arrow keys, Page Up, Page Down, Home and End. Choosing a section from the menu moves keyboard and screen reader focus to it. On phones, tablets and small windows the sections stack and the page scrolls as normal. Text and pictures always sit above the background pattern. The animated ASCII art is decorative and hidden from screen readers, and if you turn on reduced motion in your device settings, the animations stop. You can zoom the page.
3. Known issues
On a computer, scrolling with a mouse wheel or trackpad moves between sections instead of scrolling the page, which can be unexpected. The menu and keyboard shortcuts do the same job. The orange used for some small labels is lower contrast than we'd like. Apart from the reduced motion setting, there's no way to pause the background animations.
4. Feedback
If something on the site doesn't work for you, email hello@packardmill.com and tell us what you were trying to do. We'll fix it or send you the information another way.
